In the year 2018, a vast computer mainframe has taken over Earth and is pitting all manner of destructive hardware against you. Luckily, you are in control of an experimental super weapon, the Battle Force Tank (BFT). Using this advanced tank, you must destroy all of the bad computers and their servient hardware to liberate human captives.
The BFT can transform itself into other vehicles, such as a submarine, an amphibious vehicle, or a hovercraft. You will undertake six campaigns, each having several assigned objectives. There is also a multi-player mode that operates via the Internet and enables you to play against your friends. Four players can each take control of a Battle Force Tank and go to war with one another.
From either a first- or third-person perspective, you take control of the supertank and endeavor to save the world, arcade-style, controlling both the turret and massive ordnance while steering the battle tank towards numerous enemies. Each mission has a set of objectives that must be achieved before the next area can be accessed.
Zipper Interactive, the developer of Recoil, uses a propietary 3D graphics engine known as GameZ. With it, the game will run on almost any PC without degradation of visuals, as it uses built-in 3D acceleration.
Recoil has six distinct and detailed worlds that feature lava, quicksand, clear lakes, ice, snow and more. With the large selection of options availble for the battle tanks, this fight to save the Earth involves a mix of arcade-style action and careful strategy.
Tanks patrol the desolate city streets, turrets and missle sites threaten the skies. Robot warriors carrying pulse rifles surround military installations. What's become of Earth? Machines have taken over. Corporate greed and rapid technological advancments have made humans pawns of their own creations. Command a tank that can change into four different types of vehicles a Tank, A hovertank, a Amphibious tank, and a Submarine. Fight through six missions of Tank blasting action on your way to destroying Megacorp!
