Maisie Williams’ reply is more calm, though she also wishes ‘Arya Stark’s fate meted out differently. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly , Maisie Williams revealed that she wanted her character to kill ‘Cersei’ even if it meant that ‘Arya’ would die, a plotline speculated by many fans had. “Even up to the point when ‘Cersei’s with ‘Jaime’ I thought [while reading the script], ‘He’s going to whip off his face [and reveal its ‘Arya’]’ and they’re both going to die. I thought that’s what ‘Arya’s drive has been,” she explained. This comment is in line with the sentiments of several fans, who felt that ‘Arya’s assassin skills could have been put to better use instead of wasting it on ‘Cersei’ being killed by a rubble. However, as there is unlikely to be any remake soon due to the immense scale of resources, fans can only accept as what it is. Perhaps the “ideal” plot of fans will be unveiled in George R.R. Martin’s book version , which the author says will deviate from the storyline of the show. Only time can tell.
